A Toronto driver is facing numerous charges after allegedly trying to flee from a traffic stop in Dufferin County this past Friday.

According to Dufferin County OPP, officers were patrolling along Highway 10 in Melancthon Township at around 2:30 p.m. that afternoon when they saw a speeding vehicle.

The officers tried to pull it over, but the driver then allegedly passed another vehicle on the shoulder.

He was charged with fleeing from an officer, failing to stop for police, dangerous operation, speeding between 1 and 49 kilometres per hour over the speed limit, stunt driving, and passing off the roadway.

The accused is scheduled for an Orangeville court date. His licence was suspended and his vehicle was impounded.
