No serious injuries were reported after a two-alarm fire at a highrise building in Toronto’s downtown core.
Firefighters were called to a building near Wellesley and Parliament streets at around 7:40 a.m. for reports of a fire on the third floor.
Two units were involved and heavy black smoke could be seen coming from the building.
One occupant was rescued by fire crews and multiple people suffered smoke inhalation as a result of the blaze.
Today, fire crews responded to a building fire on Wellesley St. Four individuals were rescued from the third floor using ladders. The fire is out, and smoke has been cleared. One person was transported to hospital with minor injuries, police said.
