One person is dead and another is in hospital in “critical but stable condition” following an overnight structure fire in Niagara Region, police say.
Police say that they were called to a structure in the area of Forks Road between Young’s and Morog roads in Wainfleet at around 12:30 a.m.
Police say that the body of the deceased was found inside the home by firefighters. Their age and sex is currently unknown. Investigators say the victim in critical condition was an adult male.
The Office of the Fire Marshall has been called in to lead the investigation.The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
