House fire in Etobicoke leaves four-year-old boy injured

A four-year-old boy is in hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries after a fire broke out in the basement of an Etobicoke home Wednesday night.

A young boy has been rushed to hospital with serious injuries following a house fire in Etobicoke late Wednesday night.

Police said the fire broke out in the area of Kipling Avenue and Redwater Drive at around 10:40 p.m.

Crews arrived to find flames in the basement of the residence and all occupants were already out of the home.

A four-year-old boy was taken to SickKids Hospital for serious, but non-life-threatening injuries, according to paramedics.

Two dogs were also pulled from the residence, Toronto Fire told CP24.

Firefighters remain on scene monitoring for hot spots.
