Toronto police are alerting the public following several recent street robberies in northeast Scarborough.

The incidents occurred in the Malvern neighbourhood between Nov. 1 and 13, in the evening hours.

Investigators allege a suspect robbed three different female victims, approaching them from behind and grabbing their phones and purses.

No injuries were reported.

The suspect is described as a Black male, 20 to 30 years old and last seen wearing a black coat. Police say he is “known to target females who are walking in the area alone.”

Investigators are urging the public to be aware of their surroundings while travelling in the area of Morningside Avenue/Finch Avenue East and Neilson Avenue and Finch.

This investigation is ongoing and anyone with further information is asked to contact Toronto police at 416-808-4200 or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
