Vehicle abandoned on streetcar tracks after rollover in the Distillery District: police

Two people are in custody after police say they fled the scene of a rollover in the city’s Distillery District on Monday morning.

The collision occurred at around 3 a.m. near Cherry and Front streets.

The vehicle was abandoned on streetcar tracks, police said, forcing the TTC to suspend service in the area.

Two males who police allege fled the scene were later located with the assistance of the police service’s K9 unit. One was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

It is unclear what charges they are facing.

Cherry Street reopened at around 7 a.m.
