A woman has been rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries after a stabbing in Scarborough on Tuesday morning.

It happened in a parking lot of an industrial area near Markham Road and Select Avenue, south of Steeles Avenue East, at around 7:30 a.m.

Paramedics said the victim, a woman in her 50s, was taken to hospital in critical condition.

No arrests have been made but police described the suspect as a male who is approximately five-feet, eight inches tall, and was wearing all black.

The suspect fled the area in a light-coloured sedan, police said.
