Service resumes on Finch West LRT following earlier ‘switch issues,’ TTC says

Toronto City Councillor Brad Bradford discusses his plan to improve transit in the city.

Service on the new Finch West LRT was suspended on two separate occasions this morning due to “switch issues,” the TTC confirms.

At around 7:30 a.m., the transit agency confirmed that there was no service along the entire line between Finch West and Humber College stations following switch issues.

About 40 shuttle buses were deployed to supplement service, TTC spokesperson Stuart Green said, adding that Metrolinx maintains the line and is responsible for fixing switch-related issues.

Service resumed shortly before 8 a.m.

It was the second time this morning that issues were reported.

Trains were halted on the line at around 6 a.m. but service was restored a short time later.
