Toronto police have named a suspect in their investigation into an alleged homicide that happened on Saturday in the Queen West neighbourhood.

Police say officers responded to a call about a missing woman in the Strachan Avenue and Wellington Street West area on Friday night, at around 10:40 p.m.

Investigators say they located the missing deceased woman in a residence the next morning and her death was classified as homicide.

The victim and suspect knew each other, police believe, adding that this is Toronto’s 40th homicide of 2025.

“They were in an intimate partner relationship,” Toronto police told CP24 on Monday. “We have released an image of the suspect, and that is out there, and we’re appealing to the public, if anybody would happen to know where this man is to please call police.”

Abdul Ghafoori, a 32-year-old of Toronto, has been named by police as a suspect in the homicide of 30-year-old Himanshi Khurana, also of Toronto.
