Oshawa man charged with aggravated assault after allegedly stabbing rooming house resident

An Oshawa man is facing an aggravated assault charge after he allegedly stabbed a fellow resident of a rooming house on Thursday.

In a news release issued Friday, Durham police said they were called to the area of Ritson Road North and Adelaide Avenue East for a report of an armed person inside a residence.

Police said a male residing in the rooming house assaulted and stabbed another resident, leaving them with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect, identified by police as 38-year-old Nnamdi Enunwa, was charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, and possessing a weapon to commit a criminal offence.

The circumstances leading up to the stabbing are unclear.
