A man wanted for allegedly assaulting one person with a blunt object in North York last month has been arrested.
Toronto police said the assault occurred on the evening of Dec. 21 near Lawrence Avenue West and De Marco Boulevard, east of Black Creek Drive.
One person was walking in the area when a man and a woman approached them.
The man allegedly then hit the person with a blunt object. Police said the pair fled the area shortly.
The victim was later taken to the hospital with serious injuries, police said.
Earlier this month, investigators released images of the man and woman, asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating them.
In a news release on Saturday, police said their investigation revealed that there was only one suspect, who had been arrested.
They have identified him as 39-year-old Gregmore Osakpa Osawe from Bradford.
He has been charged with assault, assault with a weapon and aggravated assault.
Police said there are no outstanding suspects.
