Full subway service has now resumed on Line 1 after an injury at one of Canada’s busiest transit hubs caused major problems for morning commuters, the TTC says.

At around 8:45 a.m., the transit agency reported the incident in a post on X, saying there was no subway service on Line 1 (Yonge-University) both ways between College and Osgoode stations because of an injury on the tracks, the TTC says.

The injury, which occurred at Union Station, also suspended some streetcar service. The 509 Harbourfront and 510 Spadina routes are still bypassing Union and dropping off customers at the ferry docks.

TTC Senior Communications Advisor Susan Nguyen told CP24 shuttle buses were not being sent due to downtown Toronto traffic and advised customers to switch between the Yonge and University sides using streetcars.

She said crowding was also reported at St. George and Bloor-Yonge stations.

Shortly after 10:30 a.m., the TTC said subway service had resumed.
