Toronto police say they are searching for a suspect after a man was critically injured in an assault at a downtown subway station on Monday night.
It happened at around 7 p.m. at Wellesley Station, near Yonge and Wellesley streets.
Police said the victim and suspect were on board a northbound subway train when they became engaged in a physical altercation. The two got off the train at Wellesley Station, police said, and the altercation continued.
“The suspect kicked the victim several times before fleeing the station,” police said in a news release issued Tuesday.
The victim, who is believed to be a man in his 50s, suffered life-threatening injuries, police confirmed.
Police have now released a photo of the suspect.
“Investigators are asking anyone who may have witnessed or recorded the incident to please contact police,” the news release continued.
