There was no subway service on a portion of Line 2 for more than three hours on Tuesday afternoon, forcing commuters to take shuttle buses.
The TTC first reported the issue shortly after 1 p.m., saying crews were fixing a signal problem.
As a result, trains were not running between Broadview and Victoria Park stations.
Regular service resumed just before 5 p.m.
