Truck hits streetcar wires, closing busy stretch of King Street during morning commute

Toronto Fire said a truck made contact with streetcar wires and smoke was initially reported coming from the lines.

King Street has reopened in Toronto’s west end after a truck hit streetcar wires.

The incident happened at around 6:26 a.m. in the area of King Street West and Atlantic Avenue.

Power was shutdown in the area as the TTC did work to repair the lines.

No injuries were reported.

King Street was closed in both directions between Atlantic Avenue and Shaw Street for hours but all lanes have reopened with the exception of one eastbound lane.
