A winter storm resulted in the cancellation of students transportation across the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area on Wednesday morning.
All public schools in Hamilton as well as York University closed for the day.
Some programs in the region have also announced that they’re closing or being cancelled for the day.
Here’s how you may be affected.
Toronto
The Toronto District School Board and the Toronto Catholic District School Board have cancelled all buses today but schools are open.
York University has suspended operations as of 5:30 a.m. today due to the severe weather. Virtual activities continue. The post-secondary institution says it will post an update online about evening operations by 2 p.m.
Peel Region
All buses are cancelled to schools in Peel Region in zones 1, 2, and 3, Student Transportation of Peel Region says.
The Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board says buses are cancelled in all zones today.
Brampton Meals on Wheels will be cancelling its meal delivery today due to the road conditions. The organization is encouraging clients to use their “Snow Day Meals.”
York Region
The York District School Board and the York Catholic District School Board say buses are cancelled today but schools remain open.
Durham Region
Durham Student Transportation Services says all school buses are cancelled today.
Halton Region
Halton Student Transportation Services says all buses are cancelled in zones 1, 2, and 3. Schools remain open.
Oakville Meals on Wheels will not be delivering meals on Wednesday due to inclement weather conditions.
Hamilton
The Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board has closed all schools, administrative buildings, and workspaces – including its Education Centre, today due to the storm. As a result, all learning (in person and remote) as well as childcare and evening permits are cancelled. The board has also cancelled all school buses for the day.
The Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board says buses are cancelled but schools remain open.
Niagara Region
The District School Board of Niagara says buses are running today but delays may be possible.
