Two 14-year-old boys armed with a conducted energy weapon are facing charges after they allegedly robbed a victim in Whitby last month.

In a news release issued Monday, police said they were called to Taunton Road and Garden Street on Feb. 19 for a report of a robbery. Police said the two suspects allegedly threatened a youth with a conducted energy weapon, demanding the victim’s jacket and satchel.

The victim did not sustain any injuries and two suspects were taken into custody without incident, police say.

The suspects cannot be named under the terms of the Youth Criminal Justice Act. One is charged with robbery and the other with five offences related to possessing a weapon and robbery, police say.

The two were released with conditions, investigators say.
