Toronto police released a surveillance camera image of a suspect in an assault investigation in Scarborough over the weekend.

Police have released a surveillance camera image of a suspect in an assault investigation in Scarborough over the weekend.

The incident happened near McCowan Road and Highway 401 at around 3:15 p.m. on March 7.

Police say that the suspect approach a security booth in the area and proceeded to punch through the window while armed with a knife.

It is alleged that the suspect then reached into the booth and began stabbing a desk with the knife.

A victim was inside at the time but managed to run to safety, police say.

They did not sustain any physical injuries.

The suspect is described as a male, who was clean shaven with short grey or blonde hair. He was last seen wearing a black leather jacket and blue jeans.

Police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
