Toronto police say a garbage truck struck overhead wires, which then fell onto an Etobicoke school yard Tuesday morning.

It happened near Morgan Avenue and The Queensway, just east of Royal York Boulevard, at approximately7:45 a.m.

The wires which were hit are also down in front of the school, police said.

Students, staff and parents are asked to use caution in the area.
