A man in his 40s has been taken to hospital in “critical condition” after being struck by a vehicle in Scarborough, early Sunday morning.
Toronto police say officers responded to a collision in the area of Sheppard Avenue East and Warden Avenue at approximately 6:36 a.m.
Police say a pedestrian was struck and transported to hospital by ambulance.

Paramedics tell CP24 that the man was “taken to local trauma centre in critical condition.”
The driver remained at the scene.
As a result, eastbound lanes of Sheppard Avenue East were temporarily closed at Warden Avenue. However, shortly after 8:30 a.m., officials noted all roads have reopened.
