A long-standing Loblaws grocery store in Toronto’s west end will soon be converted into a No Frills.

Loblaw Companies Ltd. confirmed the news in an email to CP24, saying it believes the discount grocery store will “better serve the evolving needs of the local community.”

The company said the Loblaws store in question, which is located in the Roncesvalles neighbourhood at 2280 Dundas St W., just south of Bloor Street, will be closing on May 2.

The No Frills store at that address is expected to open at an undisclosed date later this year.

Customers are being advised that the pharmacy at the store will also be closing in May, Loblaw said, adding that is it “working to ensure a smooth transition for all our pharmacy patients.”
