2 Toronto police officers injured in crash while pursuing suspect

Two Toronto police officers suffered minor injuries in a single-vehicle collision while making an arrest near Finch and Sentinel.

Toronto police say two officers were taken to hospital after they were involved in a single-vehicle collision while attempting to apprehend a suspect in North York.

Police say the officers were attempting to stop a suspect in the area of Finch Avenue West and Sentinel Road on Thursday night when the driver got out of their vehicle and fled on foot.

The officers managed to catch up with the suspect but were involved in a collision in the process, police said.

A 31-year-old man was taken into custody and charged with flight while pursued by peace officer, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, using a forced document, and attempting to obstruct justice.

The officers sustained minor injuries.
