Three boys have been charged after two people were assaulted and robbed on a GO train, one victim sustaining life-threatening injuries, police say.

Three teenage boys have been charged following an assault and robbery on a GO train on Monday.

Toronto police said two victims hopped on a westbound Lakeshore East train and later noticed three boys wearing ski masks.

The teens started following the victims, prompting the victims to move to another train car, police said.

However, the boys continued to follow the victims.

Police said one victim locked themselves in a bathroom to get away from the suspects.

When the train was arriving at Rouge Hill station, the victim got out of the bathroom. That’s when the boys assaulted the two victims, police said.

The suspects allegedly stole some of the victims’ belongings before pushing them off the train onto the platform.

Police said one victim was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

In a news release on Friday, police said they arrested the suspects: two 14-year-olds and one 16-year-old.

All of them are facing charges of aggravated assault, two counts each of robbery with intent and disguise with intent.

The suspects cannot be identified under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Police are looking for additional witnesses who may have recorded the event on their phone to come forward.
