A woman who was wanted after a gun was found in a hotel in downtown Toronto over the weekend has been arrested and charged.
Toronto police say on March 22 at around 3 p.m. officers attended a hotel near King Street West and Blue Jays Way for reports of a suspicious incident.
Malek El Sayah, 30, of Mississauga, was subsequently arrested and charged with a number of firearm possession offences as well as one count of possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime exceeding $5,000 and three counts of possession of a schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking.
The charges have not been tested in court.
He was scheduled to appear in bail on March 23.
Police say a second suspect, 31-year-old Daniela Young, of London, Ont., turned herself in to police on Tuesday.
She has been charged with possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm, possession of prohibited/restricted weapon or prohibited device knowing no authority (over capacity magazine), and possession of a firearm while prohibited.
Young was scheduled to appear in bail court on March 24.
