A newly renovated stadium-view suite at the Marriott City Centre hotel will be sure to get Blue Jays fans into the baseball spirit.
The hotel chain recently released images of the upgraded “clubhouse-inspired” room at the hotel, which is connected to the Rogers Centre in downtown Toronto.
“Closets have been transformed into player-style lockers, complete with bats, batting gloves, fielding gloves, helmets, and photos,” a news release issued by the hotel chain read.
“Above the king-size bed, dugout-style storage and ballgame-inspired lighting create the feeling of being inside a professional team space, while the headboard and side tables are designed to resemble a classic wooden dugout bench.”

The suite, known as The Rawlings Room, is a “one-of-a-kind, split-level Field View Room” that was created in partnership with baseball brand Rawlings.
The entrance consists of a display of Rawlings bats on the walls and ceiling.
“A dramatic wall mural made entirely of Rawlings baseballs spells out “1977,” commemorating the inaugural season of the Toronto Blue Jays,” the news release continued, adding that this is the focal point above the room’s double pull-out sofa.
Specialty furnishings, the hotel says, includes an oversized baseball glove chair.
“Custom carpeting, bedding, and ballpark design details tie the entire experience together into a fully immersive tribute to Rawlings baseball,” the release notes.
The hotel will also have a Gold Glove Trophy on display for fans to take photos.
Marriott said fans who book a suite under the category “Larger Guest Room, Baseball Stadium View, 1 King” will be eligible to request an upgrade to The Rawlings Room from March 28 through to the end of April.
The request can be made at TheRawlingsRoom.com or torontomarriott.com after booking the room.
Guests will be “drafted” at random to stay in the room, the news release said.
From May on, the room will be available to book directly at TheRawlingsRoom.com or torontomarriott.com.
As of Thursday afternoon, some stadium-view rooms were still listed as available on the hotel’s website for Friday’s home-opener, including one with a king-sized bed for just under $3,500 including taxes and fees.
On Monday night, when the Blue Jays face off against the Rockies, a stadium-view room with two double beds was listed at just under $1,000, inclusive of taxes and fees.
