Brampton man arrested in daytime Oakville shooting

Halton police have arrested a man from Brampton in connection with a daytime shooting that took place in Oakville this week.

On Friday, March 27 at 12:05 p.m., a suspect in a vehicle fired several shots at a vehicle behind him on Progress Court, near the South Service Road. He then fled eastbound on the South Service Road towards Fourth Line, police said.

No one was struck or injured in the incident, which police believe was targeted.

Justin Tasevski was arrested by police, following an extensive investigation. Police say the 29-year-old faces the following charges:

  • 2 counts of Attempted Murder
  • 2 counts of Discharging a Firearm with Intent
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  • Fail to Comply with Release Order

The suspect was being held in custody and appeared before a court on Sunday. He’s since been remanded to appear on April 1, in Milton.

While police said they aren’t looking for additional suspects, they are still searching for the weapon used in the incident.
