Man charged after vehicle set on fire at U of T’s downtown campus: police

Toronto police say an arrest has been made after a car was set on fire at the University of Toronto’s downtown campus.

According to police, officers were called to the St. George Campus shortly before 1 a.m. on Tuesday for a reported fire.

Police alleged that a vehicle was set on fire by a male suspect and no injuries were reported.

On Wednesday, officers confirmed that a suspect was arrested in connection with the arson.

Police say 27-year-old Omari Douglas, of Toronto, has been charged with arson with disregard for human life, two counts of failing to comply with a probation order, and mischief over $5,000.
