Toronto police are searching for a 34-year-old man accused of sexually assaulting a woman he met through social media multiple times.
Police said they met about four years ago, in Sept. 2022, when the victim was introduced to the suspect online.
Investigators add that they were first made aware of “numerous” sexual assaults on March 31 that occured in the area of Donlands and Danforth avenues.
The suspect arranged to meet the victim in person to attend an event together, police said.
But, the suspect allegedly claimed he forgot the event tickets at home and when they arrived at his residence, he threatened and sexually assaulted her.
Months later, in January 2023, police said the victim met the suspect at a park located somewhere along Lake Shore Boulevard.
The suspect allegedly forced the victim into a bathroom and sexually assaulted her there.
Then, in July of that year, police said the two of them went to an event together in the area of Keele Street and York Boulevard, located near York University.
As they were leaving, police allege the suspect threatened her and forced her into his vehicle before sexually assaulting her.
Police said there was one more incident in December 2023, where the suspect allegedly threatened and sexually assaulted the victim inside a home in the area of Jarvis and Dundas streets.
In Thursday’s news release, police say they are searching for Luis Alberto Moscoso Lopez, of Toronto.
He is wanted for various offences, including five counts each of sexual assault and utter threats.
Police describe Lopez as between five-foot-eight and five-foot-nine with brown hair, a medium build, clean-shaven and several tattoos.
Police are asking anyone with information to contact them or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
