Police say they are still searching for a suspect who allegedly hurled anti-Black slurs and spat at someone in downtown Toronto in January.

The incident happened the evening of Jan. 16, in the PATH underground network along King Street, between Scotia Plaza and First Canadian Place.

Toronto police say a man allegedly engaged in an “unprovoked confrontation” with a person he did not know.

When the victim confronted the suspect after they were spat on, police say the suspect aggressively walked toward them while uttering racial slurs.

The suspect was last seen walking toward Scotia Plaza.

Police describe the suspect as six-foot-tall and in his late 20s with a slim build, dark-coloured hair and tattoos on the backs of his hands. They add that he was last seen wearing burgundy pants, dark-coloured running shoes, white wired earbuds, and a black three-quarter-length winter jacket with the hood up and red vents on the torso under each arm.
