Toronto police search for suspect wearing balaclava in Riverdale break-and-enter

Toronto police are searching for a suspect who broke into a home in Riverdale and stole money and jewelry.

The incident happened on April 1 at the residence on Carlaw Avenue and Gerrard Street.

Police said the suspect went to the back of the home and forced his way in.

The suspect fled the home in a vehicle after taking an unknown quantity of jewelry and money, police said.

In a news release on Tuesday, they released images of the suspect and his vehicle, described as a white, older-model Chevrolet Equinox.

The suspect was last seen wearing a black balaclava, a safety shirt, khaki-coloured cargo pants, and black shoes.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact them or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
