A 40-year-old man is facing nearly 90 charges in connection with a series of commercial break-and-enters in Scarborough.
Toronto police say the businesses that were targeted are in the area of Victoria Park Avenue and Ellesmere Road, and Victoria Park Avenue and Lawrence Avenue East.
The alleged break-ins happened between Nov. 2025 and April 2026.
Police said a suspect allegedly smashed doors and windows to gain entry and once inside, he ransacked the premises.
Cash registers and other valuables were targeted, police said.
On Saturday, police announced that they arrested Derek Bailey of Toronto.
He has been charged with 27 counts of breach of probation, 16 counts of break and enter commit, 16 counts of mischief under $5,000, 10 counts of theft under $5,000, and 10 counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
Bailey is also facing nine counts of assault with a weapon and one count of uttering death threats.
