Toronto Raptors are back in the playoffs. That means the return of ‘Jurassic Park,’ where fans can again celebrate their team in red-and-black outside of Scotiabank Arena.
It’s been four years since the Raptors clinched a spot in the playoffs with a win over the Brooklyn Nets on Sunday.
Now, Toronto will square off against the Cleveland Cavaliers in an away game this Saturday and fans who want to support can make their way back to the iconic tailgating party outside of the downtown arena.
Hundreds of fans can make their way to Maple Leaf Square (“Jurassic Park” during the Raptors playoff season) for home and away games in the postseason, which they can attend for free—if they’re lucky enough to snag tickets.
To do so, Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment (MLSE) say fans can enter a draw for up to two tickets per game through the Raptors’ mobile app starting at 9 a.m. the day before each confirmed playoff game.
Raptors fans will have until noon to submit their entries, and whoever is granted a pass will be notified at 1 p.m. that same day.
Each tailgating event will open two hours ahead of each game, with gates closing off to the public after halftime has ended.
Bremner Boulevard, from Maple Leaf Square to York Street, will shut down on a game-by-game basis whenever a tailgate is being hosted.
On top of live game footage, MLSE says the tailgate will also have live entertainment and special appearances from celebrities and team personalities with exclusive prizes, food and drinks, and Real Sports merchandise on sale.
The first playoff game takes place in Cleveland at 1 p.m. EST on Saturday.
