York regional police have released surveillance video of a arson that occurred at a Vaughan car dealership Wednesday night.

Investigators say the incident happened in the area of Chrislea Road and Jevlan Drive shortly before 2 a.m. They say that officers were patrolling the area at the time and noticed “several vehicles on fire.”

In the video, a lone suspect can be seen arriving in a grey SUV, where he parks and approaches a dark coloured sedan. The suspect then pours what appears to be an accelerant on two vehicles before igniting a fire and walking away.

There were no injuries or reported damages to the building but police confirmed a total of five vehicles were impacted.

Officials described the suspect as a male wearing a black jacket with the hood up, blue jeans and black shoes. He was last seen carrying a plastic bag with containers.

Anyone with information is asked to come forward, as officials note the investigation is ongoing.
