A 53-year-old woman has serious, but non-life-threatening, injuries after being struck by a vehicle in Etobicoke early Saturday morning, Toronto police say.
In a post on social media, Toronto police say officers responded shortly after 8 a.m. to reports of a vehicle that drove into a bus shelter in the near The West Mall and Rathburn Road.
Police say a woman was struck during the incident.
She was initially transported to hospital via emergency run with life-threatening injuries.
However, in an update, paramedics tell CP24 the injuries are serious but non-life-threatening.
A Toronto police media officer later told CP24 that the driver of the vehicle, a 28-year-old man, was charged with careless driving.
Police said they still don’t have information on what led to the collision.

The Toronto District School Board (TDSB) confirmed on Saturday that the vehicle involved in this crash was TDSB security van but would not comment further on the incident.
