Young child dead after falling from apartment bedroom window in North York

Police say they found a 6-year-old girl dead at the scene near Chalkfarm Dr. and Jane St. and that she fell from a bedroom window.

A 6-year-old girl has died after falling from a bedroom window at an apartment building in Toronto on Sunday night, police say.

It happened at a building near Chalkfarm Drive and Jane Street in North York at around 8:15 p.m.

Police say that they were initially called to the area for a report of unknown trouble and located the child deceased.

In a post on social media on Monday, police said that officers remain on scene pending an autopsy report.
