Pedestrian struck by driver in Etobicoke, rushed to hospital via emergency run

A pedestrian has been rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries after they were struck by the

driver of a vehicle in Etobicoke, prompting a closure of a major artery.

It happened near Dundas Street and Islington Avenue just before 8 a.m.

Police say the pedestrian is a male in his 50s. He was taken to hospital via emergency run.

The driver remained on scene.

Police say that the westbound lanes of Dundas Street are currently closed at Islington Avenue as an investigation is conducted.

It is not clear when the roadway will reopen.
