Two eastbound lanes were closed on Highway 401 in Milton for much of the morning rush hour, causing a significant back up.
The closure was put into place after a transport truck collided with a guardrail at around 4:30 a.m. The highway did not fully reopen until around 8:30 a.m.
CP24 Traffic Specialist Meital Sperling said that the lane closure resulted in traffic being “really jammed up” along much of the eastbound Hwy. 401 throughout Thursday morning.
Ontario Provincial Police previously warned motorists on the eastbound lanes of Hwy. 401 to “drive with caution” and expect “possible slow downs.”
They say that no injuries were reported as a result of the earlier collision.
