Subway service resumes along Line 2 after mechanical issue halted trains for about an hour

Published:

Crowds are seen waiting for shuttle buses outside Broadview Station during a subway service interruption on May 1.

Subway service was suspended along a portion of Line 2 for part of the morning rush hour on Friday.

The issue was first reported just after 7 a.m. and was impacting service between Woodbine and Broadview stations.

The TTC confirmed just after 8 a.m. that service was resuming with residual delays expected.

Shuttle buses were running during the closure and footage from CP24’s chopper on Friday showed large crowds forming outside Broadview Station as they waited for shuttle buses.

The latest service suspension comes one day after the TTC had to suspend service along the entirety of Line 2 and Line 4 for 30 minutes following a software issue.
