Some of Toronto’s parks may seem a little more crowded than usual this weekend with cherry blossoms expected to reach peak bloom in the coming days.
“The City of Toronto is predicting that cherry blossom trees will bloom this weekend,” a news release issued by the city read.
“Cherry blossoms typically last four to 10 days, depending on weather conditions.”
Cherry blossoms can be found at a number of locations around the city, including High Park, Trinity Bellwoods Park, the University of Toronto Scarborough, Woodbine Park, and York University.
A map of where to find the trees, along with expected “etiquette” for spectators, can be found on the city’s website.
“Visitors are asked to protect the blossoms by not climbing the trees and not removing blossoms or branches. Visitors are encouraged to use designated litter and recycling bins for any discarding,” the news release read.
“City parks contain ecologically sensitive areas, and visitors are asked to stay on paved pathways and trails to help sustain the long-term health of these areas.”
