A middle lane will be closed on the Burlington Skyway throughout the weekend and officials are warning of traffic delays.

The Ministry of Transportation says that the closure in the Niagara-bound lanes will go into effect at 10 p.m. on Friday with the highway not expected to fully reopen until 5 a.m. on Monday.

The closure is required to complete bridge deck rehabilitation work.

Officials say that during the closure two Niagara-bound lanes will remain open.

However, the ramp from the Eastport Drive collector lanes to the Burlington Skyway will be fully closed.

“Eastport Drive will remain fully open and can be used as an alternate route to re‑enter the QEW Niagara‑bound,” officials say.

The lane closure is weather dependent.
