Two westbound lanes on Hwy. 401 are closed near Milton following a series of collisions and police are warning that the closure could be “lengthy.”
Police say that the lanes are closed at Regional Road 25.
The closure was put into place following multiple collisions and a heavy oil leak in the area, OPP say.
There is no timeline for when the highway will reopen.
CP24 traffic specialist Adwoa Nsiah-Yeboah says that drivers on the westbound Hwy. 401 will encounter “major issues” with only one left lane currently getting by.
She said that the traffic backup is significant as a result.
