Man in 30s and teenage boy seriously injured after two-vehicle crash in Scarborough

Two people, including a teen, were seriously injured following a crash in Scarborough.

Emergency crews in Scarborough are investigating a serious two-vehicle crash that left one driver with life-threatening injuries late Friday night.

In a news release, Toronto police say the collision happened at about 11:15 p.m. in the Lawrence Avenue East and Markham Road area.

Investigators say an 18-year-old man driving a white 2018 Toyota Camry was travelling westbound on Lawrence Avenue East when it collided with a grey 2015 Lexus ES 300 being driven eastbound by a 36-year-old man who was attempting to turn left into a plaza.

Police say the Lexus driver was ejected from the vehicle.

The 36-year-old driver of the Lexus was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The 18-year-old Toyota driver was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Traffic officials are leading the investigation.

Police are asking residents, businesses and drivers who may have security camera or dashcam footage of the area or incident to contact investigators.
