A mall in Scarborough was evacuated on Friday night after a fire broke out in the food court.

Toronto Fire Services (TFS) told CP24 that it responded to Woodside Square Mall shortly after 8 p.m.

When they arrived, TFS said crews initially did not encounter fire but observed a “haze” in the mall.

The mall was evacuated and the call was upgraded to a two-alarm response, TFS said.

Shortly after, crews found the fire in a restaurant in the food court and quickly worked to extinguish it.

TFS said crews conducted a search and no injuries were reported.

The cause, origin and circumstances of the fire are unknown.
