Police charge man for stabbing and ‘running around with a knife’ in Regent Park

A man was seriously injured after being stabbing in an unprovoked incident. The suspect was arrested at the scene.

A man has been arrested in Toronto’s Regent Park neighbourhood after he allegedly ran “around with a knife” and stabbed someone, late Saturday night.

Toronto police say the incident happened shortly after 11 p.m. in the Dundas Street East and Sumach Street area.

In a post to social media, officials say the suspect “approached and stabbed the victim.” It’s unclear if the victim and suspect are known to each other.

Police tell CP24 “this appeared to be a random attack.”

The victim was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
