Lotto Max players are being told to check their tickets, after the winning $70 million draw was sold somewhere in Brampton as officials tease it could make “a great mother’s day gift.”
The winning ticket was for the May 8 draw, according to OLG, but officials note several other major prizes were also sold in Ontario.
“Since 2009, Lotto Max players in Ontario have won over $9.9 billion, including 122 jackpot wins and 1,003 Maxmillions prizes,” OLG wrote in an email to CP24.
They add that a Maxmillions ticket worth $333,333.40 was sold in Milton, Ont, adding that the prize is shared with two other winning tickets sold in Quebec and western Canada.
In addtion, five Maxplus prizes worth $100,000 each were sold in the United Counties of Prescott and Russell Ont, Simcoe County Ont., and Kitchener Ont.
Two additional Maxplus prizes worth $33,333.40 were sold in the Parry Sound Ont, and Nipissing area and Stoney Creek as part of a shared prize.
Three Encore tickets worth $100,000 each were sold in Lucan Ont, the Kawartha Lakes region and Toronto.
