An employee of a money services business in North York was shot with a pellet gun during a robbery on Friday afternoon, Toronto police said.

Officers were called to the business in the area of Wilson Avenue and Bathurst Street shortly after 5 p.m.

Police said several masked suspects entered the business and demanded money.

The employee shot by a pellet gun was later taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Suspects had already fled when police arrived. The exact number of suspects is unknown, and no descriptions have been released.
