A man has been arrested by Toronto police after a North York church was vandalized multiple times over several months.

The incidents happened between Aug. 6, 2025, and May 5, 2026.

Police said the suspect repeatedly damaged the outer glass doors of a church in the area of Don Mills Road and Fairview Mall Drive before fleeing each time.

On May 5, police arrested Sohrab Mehmandoust, 45, of Toronto. He has been charged with four counts of mischief relating to religious property.

Police say the incidents are being investigated as a suspected hate-motivated offence.
