The annual CafeTO program is set to launch this Victoria Day long weekend, marking the unofficial start to the city’s patio season.
The program allows restaurants and bars to expand outdoor dining through sidewalk cafés, curb-lane dining and patios.
More than 290 restaurants and bars have registered this summer, according to the City of Toronto, joining 752 existing patios and 604 sidewalk cafés already in place.
“Together, these diverse dining spaces showcase Toronto’s vibrant and multicultural food scene,” the city said in a news release.
The city has published a map of participating businesses.
Sunny conditions are expected all weekend long.

Toronto’s five municipal golf courses, which opened on April 10, will also be open throughout the Victoria Day long weekend.
