More hot and humid weather is expected on Tuesday as Toronto’s first heat event of the season persists for another day.
A heat warning, yellow alert, was issued for Toronto on Sunday and a daytime high of 29 C is expected on Tuesday, feeling closer to 36 when factoring in the humidity.
The national weather agency noted that temperatures “may be cooler” along the lake shores.
“Take action to protect yourself and others – extreme heat can affect everyone’s health. Determine if you or others around you are at greater risk of heat illness,“ Environment Canada said in its weather advisory.
“Check on older adults, those living alone and other at-risk people in-person or on the phone multiple times a day.”
The sweltering conditions are expected to stick around until Tuesday night.
Much cooler temperatures will arrive on Wednesday, which will see a daytime high of 18 C.
Thursday will drop down to a high of just 16 C before temperatures slide even further to 15 C on Friday and 13 C on Saturday.
