CP24’s Bill Coulter has an update on how the weather is shaping up this week after a short heatwave.

A multi-day heat wave in Toronto that made it feel close to 40 degrees at points has ended as much cooler temperatures move in.

Environment Canada lifted it’s yellow-level heat warning on Tuesday after being in effect for three days. At its peak, the humidity in the city made it feel like 37 degrees.

“We hit 30.7 C at Pearson on Tuesday, coming close to tying the record for May 19 at Peason of 32.2C that has stood since 1962,” CP24 Meteorologist Bill Coulter said Wednesday.

Temperatures plunged overnight, landing at 13 C Wednesday morning.

The high will climb to 18 C by the afternoon, which is two degrees cooler than seasonal. The UV index is listed at 9 today, which the national weather agency says is very high.

On Thursday, the mercury pulls back to a high of 15 C amid sunny conditions.

Heading into the weekend, Friday’s forecast is calling for a high of 15 C and clouds. Showers and highs of 16 and 17 C are expected on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.

“Temperatures recover as the sunshine returns early in the next work week,” Coulter said.
